Baptisum!

Mom and Dad

Dad, (you can keep this to yourself)

In responce to your friend all I can say is to keep trying. When i was reading your email all i was reminded of was the story President Monson gave about a missionary some yeas ago in California. He had an opertunity to meet with him in an interview as a young missionary where he found out that his perents had no suport for him on his mission. President Monson told him to write them every week with out fail. Eventualy they did write and tell him how prowd they where of him and what he was doing. His mother was preparing to be baptised the father had just been ordained a priest.

Some times we have to simply press on. This war with the advisary will not be decided in one battle. Its a war of atrition. Fight it like one. Take every advantage you can, Fast, Pray Involve others and the Lord. One member told me some wise councel "Dont have your Mission be your Mission. Life is your Mission." Unfortunataly we can go to the scriptures and see how hard it is for some who once had the gopel and then fell away from it. But that dosent change anything. They still have there agency. Not even the dead are lost.

Love you, sorry i dont have a simmple ancwer for you but I will give it some more thought and write again.

HI Everyone,

We had some Baptisums yesterday! Two of em! Whoo! Honestly they where a battle. Satin placed his traps everywhere we looked. Then also we had 9 investigators at sacrament! It was about all our small unit could handle but they did wonderfull. I had one of the siters come up to me and say I don't know how yall can be so optomistic but its great! Elder Ballard and I don't honestly know how we did it eather. All I can say is that the Lord will provide after all you can do. Honestly Elder Ballard and I have been teaching so much in our area we have not had time to find a suficent pool of new investigators. So if we dont get finding here we may dry ourselves out. As it is now we have four sold individuals on with a date and 2-3 more that are looking to it. I know that dosent sound like alot of people but it is when you are making daily contact with them and trying to make as much contact with 22 recent converts this ward has had, and making contact with less active members and... the list goes on. Growing pains our good.

Oh snap... I am about out of time.

uh loved yalls emails. they where great.
Amy and Dan- the Telegram was great to. I am thinking about fraiming it.
Friends- Some of yall our going out on missions here quick. Buckle down and hold on because Satin likes rocking our boat as much as we enjoy rocking his. :)
Fight hard and when you have nothing left dont wory about anything but holding on untill tomarow and then get back at it.

Love you all,

Spencer's letter for 10/04/2010.

Family!

We woke up and it was 45 degrees this morning. That's a shear contrast to one month ago!

Mom, Thanks for your email. I love you to.

By the way I loved Conference! It Was Great! In one of the emails I read someone asked me what my favorite talk was.(I think it was Christy that asked) I would have to say that it was in priesthood session on missionary work. There is so much work to do. To any younger cousins that my read this I will add my testimony to the brethren and tell you it is imperative that you start now to prepare for a mission. That's for the boys and girls. You younger girls may not actually serve a mission but that doesn't mean that you wont ever do missionary work and need that preparation as a spiritual shield in the years to come.

Here are some of my other thoughts about it.

The wonderful thing about the gospel is it is truth. All of it. Truth can not be changed or voted on as mentioned in conference. Because its true and we have learned about it it resonates in out minds. We all know that we can and should heed it. I would encourage you if you ever find you self kicking at the pricks to stop and just fix it. I loved the analogy to at conference about stepping over a newly varnished floor. It takes work to repent and to follow truth. A lot of work but it is so worth it. Moroni 10:32-33

I loved President Monson's talk on choice. We are responsible for ourselves to get to heaven. But we can not get to heaven with out having given all of our selves to God, his work and his glory. Ether 12:4 I can see the gospel changing so many peoples lives here in the south.

I loved what Elder Uchtdorf said about humility. Its not beating ourselves up. Its thinking more about others. It's so true.

Any way if you could follow all of what I just wrote then you know me better then I know myself. There have been so many thoughts running through my head since conference. That and my head often goes about crazy at night as a lay awake thinking about it all.
-Ann- What email where you writing to?

-Christy- You are not forgotten. I love you to.

-Amy- I Loved the pictures of the kids and I am sure you will love conference.

-Dad- How was your Birthday?

-Elder Robinson- Hey thanks for the Spanish.

-Mom- Thanks for all you do for me and for others.

-Everyone else- We an army. An Army. My whole life I have dreamed of being in the military, learning how lead others and standing up for what was right. Well we where all born into that calling. We don't fight people we fight sin. We don't tear down, we build. We can not to repent because then we cut off our communication to God. In this war it is worth it to sacrifice everything. In this war we will have to. Look to the Savior in all that you do and change to become more like him. Rely on Him. Trust Him. Build that trust daily. Obey with exactness because you love him. Reach out to others because you love them to and you see them how God dose. None of us are perfect, I am far from it, but that's okay. I write this because I need these things.  I Thank You for your examples that have taught it to me.

I love you all.
